Default weight limit for slammers?

Curious... I am a fat bastard- about 350. I don't ride two up, but like the slammed look of some bikes and wanted to look into it a little more...

I have looked around but just seem to get mixed results. I'm anticipating a nice tax refund so will have a little money for it, but don't want to waste it if im just going to bottom out everywhere...

am I just barking up the wrong tree?

Get in touch with these guys, they build shocks & might be able to help. Good luck.

Honestly man, youre probably going to bottom out A LOT. Im right about 205 with boots on and I bottomed a few times riding solo. Now granted, the roads where I live suck, but still. My two up weight is 370 and the ride SUCKED. Pretty much bottomed out continuously. It was miserable. With the shocks installed and the bike sitting level, you only have about an inch of travel before you hit the bump stop. I ended up getting a bigger rear wheel with an 11.5 shock to get the slammed look without the crappy ride. If I were you I would look into some heavy duty 11 inch shocks. Or check out Bitchin Baggers. They sell modified air shocks in different lengths. New I think they are around $450. At least then you could fine tune the pressure until you don't bottom. It might be worth talking to them and see what they say. You'll probably want the 2 up version.

11.5 Progressive 444s with an 18"wheel.

Yea at 350 the 10.5's will bottom out often. I weigh 265 and have heavy duty 11" shock and the springs are about 15 percent stiffer then the 10.5 shock springs and mine still bottoms out occasionally.

Have you given any thought to air ride? I did it for under $200.

i think might hold off on this upgrade then. i was looking for something purely cosmetic if it was an easy fix, but it sounds like more trouble then it was worth.

im about same weight as you , and dynas have oil pan under frame , one side kickstand protects it other side has a plate hanging down . with 11 1/2 in shocks I still bottom out riding hard but with 12 inch shocks I never do , so you might be able to drop a little in back if your shocks are 12 1/2 or 13 . the front can come down about an inch with out affecting and bottoming out to give bike more level look
these are 12 inch shocks , I know back fender looks high but that's because it roadking fender , with stock fender it hides tire on top
