Just check it yourself with a mirror and a flashing you can see right up and can feel the space with your fingers. Techs are good but if they don't think something is your problem they aren't looking like you would on your own bike
Here's a few pictures you can see the clevis is reversed from yours and although hard to see in the photo, with a mirror and flashlight you can inspect the rear mount easily
I tried with the rear wheel up and down and a few different ways. I already gat an email back and will have a new one here tomarrow. Now THATS service. I hope they don't mind me sharing this email.
Hello Tim,
I am sorry to hear you are having problems with the mount.
We have sent you a new mount out, it should be with you tomorrow. Its actually a prototype based on the TC mount but with a top plate from an EVO version we have been working on. We are hoping this will fix the problem. The only thing to look out for is the clearance between the mount body and the motor casing (see pic of the EVO install) . You will need to use the original 3/8unc bolts to the motor as the EVO does not have the clearance for the M10 bolts we originally supplied. If there are ay fitting problems let me know.
It showed up the next day as promised. It went on much easier and seems relaxed now. Due to medical problems I wont be able to actually check it out for a while.
The pin being in backwards is a known issue on some dynas. Pull the clevis pin and install it the other way and it should provide the clearance you need. Your vibrations however are not due to the mount.
Is there a service bulletin or is this just a fix devised to increase clearance? Mine is the same as chickenhauler's and opposite to yours. If it is indeed backwards according to some TSB etc I'd like to correct it if it could cause issues.
I forgot to mention, I could fit a popsicle stick under the bottom of the mount across the whole bottom. Another pic. Thanks everyone for your help!!!! Jim
I'm half tempted to change it anyhow---it's only $100--- thats a small price to pay for a piece of mind. I better get this thing to stop the passenger peg vibration, mamma wants to ride!!! Jim
