I'd leave it & get a feel for the new bike. Like Foxster said, you have one when it goes later... You know it will. Have fun in Sturgis. Jim

the new bike is sweet, comfortable and everything feels like it is exactly where it needs to be. Right now the bike is stock and it will already beat up on my 06 that was 88' with andrews 37's and 30t. I have a SE nightstick slip on and fuel moto air cleaner to put on tomorrow before the trip.

I was planning on putting the new mount on the new bike but to me it feels so good that i never did. I think i will just leave it alone for now. Im sure at some point i will want to install it.

It was hard to let go of the 06, i had bought it new off the showroom floor, but in the end the 14 lowrider was just too tempting. I am very happy with the decision.

So did the 'new' mount Phil sent fix your problems or. . .?

Got back from my trip yesterday, ~600mi on the 'revised' mount Phil sent to me. No issues with it, smooth the whole time.

From 2600 up very smooth---even the wife said she could ride all day now. Very stable no rear end wash-out feeling --- i used to have a buddy follow me to check my rear tire--always thought something was "loose" in the rear end---not no more! Oh btw I have roughly a 1/4 to 3/8 clearance from the bottom crossmember to the case bolt now!!! I'm finally happy with this bike. I'll try for some pics today. And yes I have a tach on my bike. Jim
Yes, switched out----moved motor forward. We're good now!

Guess I missed that post. Glad you're all set. I'll have to investigate if only out of curiosity.

Edit: I got the feeler gauges out and have ~0.220" from crossmember to the case adjacent that bolt. I don't see signs of contact though.

Great thread, sorry I hadn't seen it before replacing my front mount a couple of months ago. My '06 SGlide, which I'd owned about 4 months, had only 7k on it when the original mount went out with a bang. Looks like I'll be a customer this winter.
