When I got onto the forum today I saw that a guy named Matt Laidlaw has proclaimed the Fat Bob as the best handling HD. Per Mr. Laidlaw, the FB has the best overall ride quality, all across the board: handling, comfort. The Fat Bob is the best.
I have never ridden a FB. But how is it a better handling bike than the LR or LR S? The FB has 40 pounds on the LR and LR S.
Anyone ridden both bikes and agree that the FB is the most comfortable and best handling HD?
I have owned a 13 fat Bob and now have the LRS. The fat Bob was a great handling bike very planted and smooth. The fxdls feels quicker into the turns. It's kind of a toss up. Fat Bob is comfortable and absorbs the bumps with the big tires. Fxdls feels a little more nimble due to the weight difference. Put mid back on the Bob and you have something.
I looked at the FB back when I was looking for my first HD. For me, the FB and LR were both high on the list as they had dual front disc brakes. Why I never tried a FB was due to the forward controls. Would love to see the FB with mid-mounts.
The LR S is the best HD bike out there. And it may be my next bike. The SE 110 is a sweet motor.
Speaking from an engineering standpoint, it is of no surprise that the FB has better ride quality and handling than an LR or LR S. Both tires on the FB are the same size, given the geometry of the wheelbase in relation to the tires the body is optimally designed to turn smooth and absorb road impact. I've ridden both and actually went to the dealership to obtain a FB before I laid eyes on my LR, I went with the LR for the simple fun-factor. They are 40 lbs lighter which makes the bike feel more nimble in the corners, although physically the FB probably corners better.

Friend coming over later today to help me get the horn off. Will see if he can make me a better bracket. Will take pic of the broken bracket once I got it off.
