Default Headlight (Low Beam) and Passing Lights will not work

New Member here,,, so any help will be greatly appreciated. I have a 2001 FLSTF Fatboy. Hooked up a new taillight (Hogworkz Pro Integrated LED Taillight w/ Turn Signals). Hooked right up and works fine, High Beam works. but the Low Beam and passing lights are not working now. Checked all the fuses and took my Fluke to the connectors and getting all the right voltage at each point, and to the headlight and have continuity at each point as well. Question is, if the low beam is out will the passing lights still work? I'm not too up to speed on electrical wiring, so kind of at a stand still. Not sure if anything I am doing is even the right thing to do, so here I am, asking for yall's help, please and thank You!

I`d give Hogworkz a call, I suspect they`ll know what`s going on. May need a load equalizer installed. Drop by the Welcome Area and introduce yourself.

The passing lights and low beam are connected usually in the headlight bucket.
check the socket in the bucket first then confirm it is getting power.

Since both low beam and passing lamps are inop, you know the open in the circuit is somewhere between the headlight switch and the point in the wire where it branches out to the headlamp connector and passing lamp switch.

Follow the yellow wire back from the headlamp connector, that wire will pass through 2 connectors.

Unplug connector 38 and check for voltage with your meter on the A side of the connector.

If power is at connector 38, move on to the A side of connector 24.

Ignition switch on and low beam selected on the switch of course...

How does this happen just changing out a tail light ?

The tail light has nothing to do with the headlamp, it is a different circuit.

I can’t come up with a reason why adding the new tail light would affect the low beam power. Light fuse supplies power to the Headlamp Hi/Low switch. High beam works so switch is getting power and the ground is good. Switch to Low and no power to low beam or pass lamps.
like Dan said check for 12V at connector 38A on the yellow. If nothing there I’d check continuity between the Y and BE at 24B with switch at low.

The FLSTF does not come stock with aux lamps so the spade connector on your low beam may be suspect, if the passing lamps were wired into the low beam by the PO I would check where the wire goes to power the passing lamp switch which is either an in line splice or a replacement of the spade connector on the yellow wire of the H4 connector.

Looks like a one time poster, guess we won't see if this got corrected.
