Yup.. I haven't seen any. Wouldn't mind an education either.... Knowledge can be very valuable.......

FXWG... Started in 1980 or so...
I believe there was a '90's FXR set-up that way also... then later the Springer as THC states...

you can get them waterproofed....I haven't had any issues with mine at all. Ive been in 2 pretty good storms, and a couple rains...so far so good.
