Piece of mind knowing that I am starting off fresh? Spend a couple of bucks more on the front end knowing that it's got a solid foundation.

I'm with ya. Just curious is all.
I've told folks to hone cylinders and use new rings on anything under 70k on them for years.

Need a pert number please for the swingarm end cap plug. Can't seem to find it in the parts diagram.

It appears to be the same size as the plug that covers the headlamp bracket on my 78-1/2 FXE

Assuming these are for the rear swing arm pivot, they are #36 in the Floorboard Assembly drawing. PN 67865-89. Kinda pricey at $18.99 each IMO.

I did some searching and affirmed that the plug that covers the headlight visor bolt on my FXE and the two that are used for the swingarm on my FLHT are one and the same. J&P lists it as their part 310-138 (67865-89 & 67830-59).

Found the plugs thru Dag specilaties (DS 138933). Got two for $19.

Thanks for the help. And you are correct $18 for one is over the top.

Replaced the original shocks

New rubber and cleaned rim & rear end components

And before putting the disc back on I measured to make sure I still had enough meat on it

Sorry I didn't see this earlier. They're about $2.00 each at Lowes hardware
