Well...got up before the sun came up and got to thinking about what rizzo mentioned about the rear swing arm. I have it apart. Coupe extra bucks for new parts. Have access to a press. Only want to take the swing arm apart once. Patrts are coming. Thank you rizzo for the push. Just had to sleep on it.

[QUOTE=panz4ever;20497138]So on the plus side the passenger backrest and luggage rack is mount

Progressive appears to make a better mousetrap. Is the 412 series the correct replacement?

I put the 412's on my 2005 FLHT standard and really liked them, Big improvement compared to the factory air shocks IMHO.

I help out at a MC shop and when I see the number of times we've had bikes apart multiple times to take care of issues, sometimes it just makes sense to bite the bullet for the new parts now vs tearing it down again later. We have an old school chopper in the shop that has had the open belt drive primary off 3 times and it hasn't left the shop yet...

What did you decide to replace the swingarm cleveblocs with? CCE kit? And yes, on #21, that is the connection for the antenna. Also, inspect the pad area where the rear break pads "hook" onto. Look under the shim and make sure that it's not starting to get beat up too much. If there is slop in there, your brake pads can fall out.

I know you are going to take care of the IP seals, but check the shifter shaft seal too.

Got OEM cleve blocks headed my way. And yes they are usually a few bucks more.

Thanks for the advice on the brakes. After cleaning, I inspected and there is no slop in the are you are describing.

RE: antenna, I have been looking and there are several shorty aftermarket units available. My thought is to mount it under the left panel since there is a lot of room there.

Spent this afternoon doing a lot of disassembly, cleaning and polishing.

And I am pleasantly suprised that the paint on the accessory components would clean up as well as they have so far...Tanks and sender are pretty much in the same condtion along with the fairing. Slow process using rubbing compound several times over to remove serious scratches, the polishing/cleaning wax and finally carbnuba to make it really shine and reduce swirl marks

Also ordered the Progressive 412 series shocks.

At that low mileage, why not pull the wrist pins and leave the piston/rings/cylinders alone. Replace the base gaskets and re-assemble?
