I agree with a little heat. I bet loctite is involved.

Concern is damaging paint with the heat. So I am in the camp of heating the clevis. I also agree, use allen side to just hold in place and try to twist off clevis. Looks, like a bar (long screw driver etc.) can go into the holes of the clevis to act as a wrench.

Mildly heat the clevis and let the heat sink back to the threads of the bolt. Allen on the bolt, rod, screw driver or wrench on the clevis and keep trying. Heat, attempt to turn off, heat a little more, etc. You will get it off. Close fitting allen wrench (or nut and bolt) in the clevis hole and a pipe over the allen wrench or bolt for leverage. Good luck.

Apparently that's a socket cap bolt. Try a 5/16 Allen on the inside and stable it with a medium breaker bar to hold it in place.. With a very large 15" crescent wrench you should be able to unscrew the support part of the foot peg assembly off of the bolt by holding the bolt in position and turning the support.

1/2-20 Bolt, 3/8 allen head.

Put the footpeg back on, fold it up and then hit it with a 5 pound deadblow mallet.

This location was a very poor choice for an allen head fastener, and the factory is still using allen heads in bad locations.

Guys,
Thanks for all the help. It must have had loctite I think. I put the torch on the clevis, the peg back into the clevis and with a little persuasion with my rubber mallet it turned.

Appreciate all the ideas.

Happy New Year and Ride safe all.

Doesn't the clevis have teeth to keep the peg from spinning under pressure?
Asking for a friend.

No teeth, when that 1/2 inch bolt is tight it will not spin unless the pressure comes from a heavy mallet.
