Did you buy that Velva Touch kit, with blocks and tubes? Never heard of them, but the kit looks good. But for $625+, out of my budget.

I wonder where everyone is tonight.
At the Dentist!!!!! and now I'm drinking!!!!!!!!!

Are you sure you have those plug wires right? If they are reversed I think they would be fireing on the exhaust stroke. Don't you have some pictures of the bike taken before you took it apart, blow one up and see how the wires come out of the coil.

Ds

It's probably something small that you are overlooking..

Ground to the chassis to the starter?

Spark plug wires?

Possibly coil power wires?

The compression was within spec?

How often should there be a spark on the plugs? I pulled both of them and they didn't seem to be sparking enough.

I remember working on other smaller engines, and the plugs seemed to have a constant arc when they were sparking.

What would cause them to do that?

Scott I am not tired of hearing about your bike!!!!!!!!!!

If you have compression, spark, and fuel at the right times Bertha should run.
If you didn't mess with the timing during your repair don't mess with it now.

Plugs
1) Verify spark by pulling a plug and with the plug wire connected to the plug touch the plug to the head and hit the start button.
2) Double check plug gap.

Carb
Take the air cleaner off and make sure fuel is going through carb when you twist the throttle.
I got rid of my carb like that one a few years ago so I have very little experience with it which is why I said check your manual for the settings.

Did you mess with your valves at all?

Did you hook your VOES up?

Get a compression gauge to check exact compression.

Never spin your starter more than 5 seconds at a time and give it time to cool off between tries.
