If you have compression, spark, and fuel at the right times Bertha should run.
If you didn't mess with the timing during your repair don't mess with it now.
Plugs
1) Verify spark by pulling a plug and with the plug wire connected to the plug touch the plug to the head and hit the start button.
2) Double check plug gap.
Carb
Take the air cleaner off and make sure fuel is going through carb when you twist the throttle.

Did you mess with your valves at all?
Did you hook your VOES up?
Get a compression gauge to check exact compression.
Never spin your starter more than 5 seconds at a time and give it time to cool off between tries.
