Thanks, back on it tonight! taking starter apart to install another clutch (DAMIT).

done for tonight. I need the long bolt that goes form the primary through the starter. The one I took off was boogered up on the end........

That module could be set up for dual or single fire,depends on which coil you have.

And what's the number on it, 1007EX?
Mode select is on #3 and I have the single fire coil.

I must have checked the plug wires 3X. I looked this morning, and realized they are REVERSED on the coil. DAMIT. Getting old sux.

I will find out later today if that actually was/is the problem.
