The ace in the hole is the regenerating DPF exhaust system, hope this one doesn't make it to Harley but look at DEF in Chevy powered trucks, who would of thought this garbage system would exist 10 years ago. Lets just keep plugging away with our Evo's and let technology bypass us

Default All for it

I'm all for Harley going water cooling on their new offerings. It's the sign of the times. I'm pretty sure that I'll wait to buy one. At my age I probably have my last bike anyway. Unknown bugs will occur for sure. I bought a 2007 Ultra with the new 6 speed tranny...it was a mistake. They've got that all sorted out now. I expect the same for the steam heads.

THAT is where my Classic is leaking from. It looks to be a straightforward fix, yes? Does it come with a new gasket and you just plop the new one in there and attach the two wires? (sorry to hijack the thread momentarily)

Steamhead. That's funny. I think the MoCo has water on the brain. Read on! http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hydrocephalus

Easy fix. Not sure about the gaskets. I ended up not buying one. $200 was too steep for what it is......

Hear ya Spanners, as long as HD can meet emissions, the market will stay flooded with company's trying to undoit

Technology riders may look at the Evo and carbs as dinosaurs, my outlook is the diesel truck market has been destroyed by technology, emissions, calibrations and inflated parts prices for emission garbage, cost of repairs are transfered to the consumer by freight costs. I oversee repairs of EFI and emissions daily in a large truck dealership and in a way compare it to HD as far as holding people ransom, it's not heartwarming but technology has bypassed small shops and dealers are top of the food chain.

I can handle EFI but going to go out to the garage and make sure the jet boxes are full, HD will eventually through technology and computers lock out the small guy

I'm not sure I agree...when it gets too bad there will be small guys converting bikes back to Delphi EFI and Carbies....and there will be a growing mountain of take off emission gear piling up at the back of their workshops

Not really down here in the states the tree hugging Government will or has laws about changing to many parts on certan year models , On diesel trucks from 07 newer you cant change or get cought changing engine parts to help make it run better or get better MPG same on motorcycles

That ain't good Here in NZ we don't have emissions tests, you can do pretty much what you like to your bike and can import just about any motorcycle you like from anywhere in the world...I think in a few years I will get me a fleet of Evo's together, with loud pipes and carbies and run "Biker Nostalgia Tours" for all the poor buggers who live in Big Brother countries
