I picked up a set of mufflers from Ebay that I think are Screamin" Eagles. The part # is 64910-99. They do not have any HD or Screamin' Eagle logos on them, but they are designated as "not for road use, for closed course competition use only". All Harley can tell me is that they are a slash cut muffler. No other details.
Also, these mufflers are a different design than what I am used to seeing. Each muffler has 2 separate exhaust streams/tubes, each measuring approx. 1" or so in diameter. Neither is a direct shot to the exhaust inlet.
I seem to remember reading a post a few days ago about SE Shotgun style mufflers. Is that what these are??
Any help or info is appreciated. I like the way they sound and look on my bike (could be a little louder), but would like to know more about what they are.
Ive heard they are the early SE mufflers. I have a pair myself. They sound great, but my passenger says they are too loud. I tend to agree if you do an all day ride. I should sell the pair I have-Im running SuperTrapp's now.
Thanks everyone for your responses. I was unable to post a photo.
I like the appearance/design of this muffler but am wanting to find something with a little deeper tone. Just visited the RUSH website and listened to some sound bytes of their stuff. Also like the V&H Basic slip-ons.
I have these same mufflers on my '05 Road King. I love the deep sound they produce, and I can still talk to my girl at highway speed. They sound good when I wrap the throttle working through the gears.
I'm about to install TCC duals & PCIII, maybe my opinion on these mufflers may change afterward but we'll see.
Check outthe Bassani Megaphones they sound nice i have the D&D fatcat on my 05 road king currently but i dont like the sound so i have ordered the D&D True duel pipes from Zippers today so i will be going bauk to my Bassanis on wednesday. With 10.5:1 compression they sound really good.
