I have been looking at their 98" kit for my 06 RK. Anyone out there have any comments about their service, product, etc. I am also looking at S&S Hot Set-Up 95" too, but I am worried about the compression for Ca.gas. I might be too worried but I don't want to over build my motor.
Solo ride and planning on touring with luggage. I ride most freeway and back roads not much of a bar hopper.
Appreciate the help, there is almost too much information it makes my head spin.
I did a 95" upgrade thru Steve @ GMR. Jugs, pistons, cams, headwork. If I had the extra change, I would have gone with the 98" kit.
Steve is a stand-up guy. Highly recommended. He knows his poop. Doesn't shoot from the hip.
I did it all myself. If you do your homework, ask lots of questions, have the service and parts manuals, you should be good to go. You must have all your basic sockets, wrenches, torque wrenches, a 1/2" and 7/16" dogbone wrenches, and if you don't buy them, you will have to rent the cam chest tools, as well as ring compressor and some other basic engine tools.
Steve helped me with my 95 build , he's wonderful , great advice and fair prices . The 98 is a good way to go , I stayed with a 95 because mine is a CVO
