My bike has developed a kinda of loud squeek whenever I sit on the bike or get off the bike. This is not a simple squeek, and but an "unhealthy"metal-to-metal sound.I can't pinpoint the location but appears to be near the shocks/swing arm(softail).Other than the neck, are there any other grease points? Anyone have any ideaswhat this noise is?
I just went thru this on my 05softail.
It was the bolts that bolt the shock onto the swingarm. I backed out both bolts and put anti-seize on them. Not on the threads, but where the bolt sits in the shock.
It took awhile for me to find it. Heck, I even pulled the rear tire and splash guard off.
Have someone move the bike up and down, and feel around were the shocks bolt on to the swingarm.
Nothing to lube on the swingarm (sealed bearings).
Just went throught that on my fxstc. It was the shock eyes where they connect to the pivot. Brush oil on them and eventually it will seep in there and stop the squeak/crack sounds. Ron
