Went for a ride with my father inlaw yesterday. He just bought a Can Am Spyder. He is replacing his Road King classic w/sidecar with this 3 wheeled thing!
I can tell you that this trike bike whatever is fast. The Rotax engine has 990 cc's,106 HP.I cant catch him when he rolls on the throttle!
I road his bike and it feels pretty odd especially in the corners, like riding a quad. The seating position is like a sport bike.

I'd like to ride one just to check it out, but it's more of an ATV than a motorcycle to me. There were tons of them at Americade this summer and getting lots of attention.
I took a test ride on a Spyder and didn't care for it. It was very fast but that is all it offered me. I don't like the way it steers, nor do I like the seating position.
There must be a lot of folks that like it because my local HD dealer also sells the Spyder and they are selling them as fast as they can get them in the door. BTW, we think HD accessories are high priced, look at the Can-Am accessories.
I work for a Can-Am dealer, and those Spyders are the hottest thing on the market. We sold 51 units to date, amazing for a $16K totally new concept vehicle....
I personally love the concept and the unique ride. It's NOT a motorcycle, so don't expect that specific type of ride. If you love snowmobiling, that's exactly what the Spyder feels like (just without the freezing cold) LOL.
Most dealers have a demo unit you can test drive, so try one, I bet you will love it.. especially if you have lower extremeties issues preventing you from riding a 2 wheeled motorcycle.

I agree.
My father inlaw told me they have power steering.Do they?Did not feel like it to me.Seems like I had to muscle and lean into the turns.
On our ride yesterday we stopped at the dealership where he bought it to get the oil changed. While we were there,2 more Spyders were being deliverd. The owner said they were selling fast.
