Did you get her permission before making this post? God, now you will be in big trouble for airing your dirty laundry. Put the bike up for sale in your yard, tell her you don't want it to come between your marraige. She'll cave before you ever get an offer. Never do it again.

Why? It's a seat. It burns less gas and someone can sit on it pretty easily to get where they need to go. 
I don't see it any different than the passenger seat of my car... except it makes riding a lot less fun, unlike driving which is mostly the same. Throws the balance off in high speed turns, and it's not super safe either.

Well, did you at least get a reach around for your trouble?
This should answer the question if it was right or wrong. Because there is a lot of touchy feely when you are riding two up.

Getting your chops busted for helping friend is pure BS. Truck, bike, who cares? It got the job done. If you had taken the truck, might she be thinking you'd taken the wrong way home? Or had a little attention paid to your, ah, shift **** on the drive?
Sit her down, explain that she had no reason to be upset or jealous and that you refuse to feel bad for doing something good. If she considers the back seat her seat, it'll be just that from now on, but you won't be punished for breaking a rule she made up and never told you about. Tell her, in the interest of a long and happy life together, you'll be happy to accompany her to a therapist if she has jealousy or self esteem issues that need addressing.
Ran this post and my reply past my lady, and she agrees wholeheartedly.

THAT is funny Phil !!! LOL Not to go off subject - but I was asking my hubby a decorating question. It really was just a yes or no answer. He looked around - pondered it - looked at me and then around the room again. I asked him "Well??" Good luck, I'm assuming you didn't know you would have to give a ride just thought you could fix a small problem. I understand where you are coming from since YOU told her the story. Sometimes you can't win.

This is brutal! Bike seat, car/truck seat big F%$#@* deal! The bottom line is you went to help a Family friend. Your wife needs to grow up,move on and get over herself. Would she have climbed on your buddies bike if she was stranded? For Gawd's sake man we're talking about a ride! With all the crap going on in this world she's pissed at this? If she wants to see real heartache tell her to take a stroll through a Childrens Hospital, a Veterans Hospital, Cancer Clinic, a Homeless Shelter etc etc. Theres something to get upset about!! Yea, what a rotten S.O.B. you are for giving up her "sacred throne" and helping someone out! She owes YOU an apology. C'mon folks get with it.
