Hi All,
Was on this form prior to Christmas, I finally got the ok from the best lady in the world to purchase, used but I don't really care, but would like some advise on the RKC, I am looking at a 2006 RKC and like to know anything everything about this bike it has 37600km- 23700mi on it is there anything that I may encounter on this particular bike??
Check the cam tensioner shoes for wear. Some wear sooner than others, but they could be a problem at that mileage.
Yeah, that's one thing to check, although they shouldn't be a problem at 20k miles. Are you buying used from a dealership or a private sale? Might wanna check the service record at whatever dealership it was purchased new from. I know you're excited about getting a bike, but never rush without doing a little research.
Thanks guys, DDWevil, I've actually been investigating bikes for about 5 mths and going back and forth between the RKC or the EGC, I sat on this 2006 RKC, with pearl metal flake green and black two-one, it is a beatiful bike, I've also asked a friend of mine and he's been riding Harleys all his life and said there shouldn't be an issue, besides the used dealer has been around since 1958 and offer a lifetime warranty with all their bikes, as long as they service them. So I'm pretty comfortable.
Personally I decided against the RKC. Didn't like the vibration and the feel of the heavy front end. For highway it would be great. I know I wouldn't have been able to make a couple of the evasive maneuvers that saved my life last summer on my softail.
Picked up my 2005 RK Custom last June, had about 18,500 Kms(11500 miles USA model). The only concern I ran into was the previous owner put a stage 1 exhaust and air cleaner kit and didn't re-map the Ecm. So I purchased a PC III from Jamie at Fuelmoto and it runs great. (no more decel backfire).

Hey VI KRUZER,
Noticed you're Canadian, I'm still looking to buy, making sure I have my ducks in a row and financing, my wife is in insurance and has access to a Blue Book and seems to be very firm about the pricing in it, curious, if you don't mind me asking, what did you pay for the bike, I'd like to compare the pricing here in the Ontario market as well as the blue book, your bike has very low Km's on it.
