Talked to the owner of the local indie shop here (Desert Thunder) and he has opened a new shop in Wenatchee (also called Desert Thunder) 536 S Wenatchee Ave. He hired on the mechanics from Legends so there will be experienced Harley techs on board. Manny is a straight shooter and has done work on my bike, my son's bikes and some friends bikes. He will treat you right if you need some work done. Just a heads up in case you hadn't heard of the opening.
One of my riding friends lives in ML, home of the original Desert Thunder shop, and says the shop is highly rated. It's nice to know there's options since the HD dealership closed ....
What or where is 'ML'? And is there a desert there?
I think ML must be Moses Lake....and I'd say yes there's a desert out there. A northern desert I guess because of the way that country looks. Probably wouldn't qualify as a real desert based on its annual precip though.
Ya, I've ridden the dunes around ML (Moses Lake) on MX (motocross) bikes with PT (paddle tires). I guess it could be classified as 'desert', just not in the traditional sense.
In WA (Washington) we refer to that area as the SL (scablands) or the CB (Columbia Basin).
Good luck to them with their new shop and glad to here they have a great reputation.

Yes, I meant Moses Lake. Definitely desert, but not in the traditional sense, except maybe the sand dune area south of town. Fairly dry year round ....
It looked a lot more like dessert when I was a kid back in the 50's. I lived in ML back then. Irrigation has really changed the look of the area. Looking forward to seeing it again in 2014 and then retiring back there a couple of years after that.
