Then once the AC is installed re-flash to the original FM tune and continue perfecting the tune with Autotune if you wish. Either way, you shouldn't notice any difference in running operation in closed-loop mode (mostly idle and cruising), as AFRs are regulated by the O2 sensors.
thanks for the response. i appreciate the advice.

..... helped also identified who to throw any future queries at too

Hi guys I have a question maybe already answered but here I go..
Do I need this or I'm fine just with a Download cuz I'm really considering buying the PV but if I don't need to I will save some bucks.
Ok I just bought a 2013 72 and I installed the SE Heavy Breather and Vance and Hines Big Radius, the guys at HD that do the downloads and stuff told me that a Download won't be enough that I will need a tuner, but the guy that sold me the bike same dealer HD told me that I don't need that stuff that I don't need to buy that, that a Download will do it, and I don't know what to do, honestly I feel my bike awesome but I don't know about HD bikes cuz this is my first HD and I want to do it right cuz it's not just a bike it's a HD Bike a little help please, I won't do no more mods in the future (I think LOL) what can I do..?? Do I need the PV.
Thanks

Default An open letter to Fuel Moto and Dynojet

Dear Fuel Moto and Dynojet,

I recently purchased pipes, ac and PV from Fuel Moto. The service was prompt, and all parts arrived quickly and were well packed. I installed all equipment and flashed the pre loaded tune you sent without any problems at all.

Here's the thing.....there is absolutely no information provided on the auto tune process, and I was forced to scour the forums for information. While I realize this is a new feature, it would be appropriate, in my opinion, to provide the customer with step by step instructions. For example, I shouldn't have to rely on internet posts to try and figure out if I should press YES or NO when asked if I want to reset trims. Furthermore, I have no clue as to how I should ride, and for how long when I am in auto tune mode. Around the block? On the highway? Both? 15 minutes? Who knows, because there are no instructions.

So with all due respect to your fine companies, please place a video tutorial on your website and include written, step by step instructions for those of us who are looking to use the PV to its fullest but are not professional tuners (aka noobs.)

Thank you in advance for your kind attention!

This is the way I see it

I work for a LARGE company that sells heavy duty turbines. These turbines have a very complicated controls system and require tuning at every maintenance interval and hardware modification. We sell that service at a premium. If we taught all of our customers how to tune the units themselves then we would be out a lot of sales. FM and DJ both sell a service and a product. It is not in their best interest to teach in depth tuning.

That being said DJ has published an extensive Users Manual and an Auto Tune Quick Guide. Between the both, and other resources available, anyone should be able to "LEARN" how to tune. I did it and many other on these forums have too. This is not baking a cake and their are many parameters to consider. I would suggest you take the time to understand them all. Ask questions, read the posts and the documentation.

You could always buy a SETuner and see how much support you get from the MOCO in tuning their bikes

You could get a standard flash upload through your Harley dealership and the bike will run just fine. But if your the never ending tinkerer and are never happy with what you got or just want to understand the electronic fuel injection management system then the PV is very nice to have. I like t o watch my throttle position, MAP, AFR engine temperatures etc, etc, etc. But I'm an engineer and these things tickle my fancy. I just need to know what's going on at all times.

Smile PV Manual's

I contacted Dyno Jet by email this past week regarding updated manuals. I received an email from them with with 3 attachments, Drafts of new manuals for PoweVision, Auto Tune, & Quick Tune.

I have not read through them at this time. I just about wore our printer out, printing about 200 pages.

Most of the information I had found before was reading the forums, getting bits & pieces here and there. Last week I added the AT-110 with the wide band O2 Sensors. By trial and error I was able to do an auto tune. Now I hope I can get things dialed in.

Make sure you run the PV Client update so your firmware & software is up to date.

If you're willing to do some reading, take a look at the user manual for the TTS Mastertune. While it won't tell you which button to push when on the Power Vision, it will give a very good explanation of most of the tuning parameters that are common to the HD Delphi ECM, and how to use them.
The V-tuning procedure is basically the same as you'll use when auto tuning with the PV.

The download at the dealer is written for screaming Eagle accessories only. My dealer won't do your bike if you have any other brand of air box or exhaust. When your dealer says you need a tuner they generally speak of the Screaming Eagle Race Tuner which must be tuned on the Dyno. I don't know about you but I don't have a thousand dollars to throw away. The tuner is only as good as the Man operating it.
Do you absolutely need a tuner my answer is no. Did I buy a Power Vision, the answer is yes. Nightrider sells a device known as an XIED which works just fine with an air box change and exhaust upgrade. It is the least expensive of all options. I used an XIED on a Street Glide for five years and it worked very well. With my new StreetBob 103ci I wanted a little more.

Good Luck,
Dave

Remind me not to buy one of your Turbines. A better example would be a CNC machine. The company sends a field rep who spends time with the company to help them understand how to use the machine.

You shouldn't have to spend hour after hour searching the internet to try to get instructions how to operate the Power Vision. It should come with complete instructions on how to operate it. I have already seen conflicting info on the Internet.

I do understand your point, however...

First off, what the MOCO does or doesn't for it's product do is irrelevant in regards to the Power Vision.

I'm specifically referring to Autotune, which is billed by the company as an automated tuning feature. And what I'm asking for is a coherent users guide for the product. I buy a TV, a computer, printer, even my Harley, and they all come with an owners manual that takes you step by step through set up and use. For a $500 product, in my opinion, that's not an unreasonable request.

Anyone from Dynojet or Fuel Moto care to chime in??
