Does the PV Log Tuner ever add timing? After many tuning runs, the front cylinder has had timing removed but, in all but three cells, the timing has not changed on the rear cylinder. Should I add a little advance to the rear cylinder and have the tuner remove it as required?

The tuner will not add timing, it can only remove timing. It works by detecting when the bike retards the timing and moves the tables back. You can advance the timing a little and then ride in those ares so the tuner can bump it back if you think you need to add timing to certain areas.

I only had minor timing removed in the front cylinder also. If you think the timing is pretty close, I would probably leave it alone. If you started with a calibration file from Fuel Moto or DynoJet, I would probably leave it where it is. That is what I have done.

Thank you.

At this point you should have determined if you need to add or subtract from the base value displayed in the box (e.g. "1989"). If you believe your MPG is being optimistic by 10%, then subtract 10% of the base value which in this case is 198.9 rounded up to 199. So 1989 - 199 = 1790.

> Select "Clear" and then enter the digits so the box reads 1790, then select "Save"
>Next you'll be asked if you wish to set the MPG adjustment to 1790, select "Yes"
> Lastly, the PV will ask if you like to save the changes, select yes.

*You can also modify the MPG by going into WinPV and opening your tune file. Expand the Fuel folder under Tune Items and select MPG Adjustment. Determine the correction you wish to apply and enter the value in the box. Save the file and upload the tune to your PV.

Thank you Dusty. This write-up on MPG correction for the PV and WinPV are much appreciated.

I'm not seeing the MPG correction or adjustment option in WinPV OR on the PV itself. Hmmmmn...

Try doing load copy from current on the PV, then the parameters should be available. Also make sure you are running the latest firmware.

Nice job JD, one question though. Please correct me if I am wrong. I think the air fuel ratio should be checked as well when creating the PVV file.

You are correct. I stated that in the writeup but missed in the picture. I will correct that. Thanks

FYI, there have been 2 firmware updates since my last post, the current is now 860. In addition, Dynojet has updated there quick start guide which is available on the website. I took a quick glance and it looks informative.

For some strange reason, the log tuner application is missing from the Dnyojet website as well.

I noticed that as well. Perhaps FuelMoto might be used as a secondary backup
site if the files there are current ?
