I experienced sumping in a stock 114 in a cvo limited (2017) and also with Stage IV upgrades. All 3 engines that sumped had HD SYN3 oil, same oil that it came with from the factory.

You don't consider "blowing a pushrod or something" (LOL) to be an issue?

Why drag this out of the barn? He is referring to the fact that he has no issues with his personal Harley,as with most reports on these forums!

The "blown pushrod or something" DID happen to his personal Harley, which is why I called him out on it. For the second time.

My 2018 FLHXS has sumped 3 times now. 3rd time fried the engine. Bought the Feuling Race Oil Pump Kit. So far no Sumping but I don’t race the engine at high revs anymore, between 4000-4500, which was what triggered the Sumping all 3 times. Stage 4, V&H pipes, Andrews cam for M8’s. HP115 TQ 123.

Did you try using the latest oil pump with the seal before going to the Feuling oil pump? Was your warranty voided before the Feuling oil pump?

Heatwave, yes I had 2 of the newest oil pumps continue to cause the sumping . Newest as of May 2018 and again July of 18. The last time I got a new long engine block. I had to make the pump change or I’d never have trusted the bike. H-D paid for the first 2 repairs but when the engine died they pulled up the aftermarket PV tune and voided my warranty. Bike seems good as long as I don’t speed shift in high revs 4000-4500rpms.

Thanks for the update. So you never used the latest HD oil pump as of Sept/Oct 2018 when the "seal" was released?

Worth noting that my local dealer just shared that they have no control of a warranty being voided for a 3rd party tune existing on a bike. The moment they plug the bike into the Harley Data system, the bike will immediately be flagged for voiding the drivetrain warranty if the tune on the bike is not a Harley tune or if the bike's ECU has been flashed and there is no record of an SE pro-street tuner mated to the bike.

They also shared with me that the MoCo is also now voiding warranties for non-Harley exhausts EVEN if they are EPA-approved unless they were certified with the bike they were installed on. Apparently the EPA is cracking down harder on them and they are voiding more warranties for exhaust changes in addition to 3rd party tuning.

Lastly, even the HD sponsored ESPs have been voided for unapproved tuning and exhaust changes. No 3rd party ESPs have been voided as far as they are aware. Pretty sad.

No I don’t have the one with the seal. Not sure what all came with the $1200 Feuling Race Oil Pump other than a cam plate. Either way I don’t trust the H-D oil pump.
