Quick update!

But first, thanks for the advice!I will definitely go with the thinner head gasket.

Parts started coming today! Dk oil catch can set up, their oil filter, and the 285 Thunder Torque inserts. I only need one, but we are going to test on the 120 once built to see how much of a difference it makes on the dyno and if it helps out the low end torque problem that my exhaust is reported to have with the 120.

Just waiting for the Screamin Eagle stage IV kit (dealership is swapping out parts and giving me credit for the stuff we are replacing/upgrading that they can resell) and then it’s boring and honing time! Should be about 10 days before stuff really starts.

I have sourced the Mahle 10.9 pistons, but can’t help but think there may be a better option for pistons. Anyone know of any better options for higher compression/more reliability?

Another update: all parts are in, except for cylinders and pistons. They will be here on Monday. S&S lifters, retainers, and adjustable push rods, fueling pump and cam plate, reusable oil filter, 5.5 injectors, 64mm tb, screamin Eagle heads (I know, I know, but they came with kit), Woods 408 cam, new freedom performance 2 into 1 turn out (replaced free under warranty), .03 gasket for the higher compression, already have the Trask on with the catch can, and got the thunder torque inserts. Tuning will be done with a power vision.

We won’t have a before dyno since they are already tearing the bike down now, but they are going to do 3 separate runs with the insert; one wide open, one at 45 degrees, and one at 90 degrees. I was told that this would not help a thing with the back pressure of my exhaust or tq/hp numbers, so I am very interested in the results. They are also swapping tires (the rear tire feels like riding on marbles and front has a crack that goes around the rim), Rockford Fosgate amp (it keeps shorting and under warranty) and head unit for the Sony avx-5000. I will be selling my old stock 6.5 unit soon, so if anyone wants, shoot me offers!

Dyno charts from my dealer will be posted here Wednesday or Friday, and then I am also going to do a pull at docs where they did a 114 build with the 408 cam, my exact exhaust, and Screamin Eagle heads. That post will probably come Saturday. Fingers crossed!

Like the bike Doc, going to be interesting to see how this goes ,thanks for sharing

Does the Trask come stock vented or you modding it?

Noticed when FM done their cam testing nearly all charts shown a dip in the torque curve, they followed up with a higher flow AC (than the SE stg 1) which eradicated the dip

Good intake seems also key to me with the M8, after all T-man selling the "no loss*AC $650 a pop!

Isn't it advised to use new head bolts/cam drive bolts, see T-man offers a tighter tolerance crank/cam drive sprocket, if yours is slack fit one.

I had to mod the crap out of things, used banjo fittings, jb weld, drilling, shims, etc., but it works pretty flawlessly and I think looks good. I can take more pics if you like once I get the bike back. As far as the head and cam bolts, you are speaking Greek to me lol. I don’t know if they are needed or not, but I’m sure my dealership is more than happy to point out anything they can charge me money for hahaha.
