I have HOG roadside assistance because I am a member of HOG, but I also belong to the AMA and have used their roadside assistance several times. AMA roadside assistance includes motorcycles AND automobiles. It not only covers your vehicles, but any vehicle you are riding in. One call for assistance and it's paid for itself. I've used it once for my bike, but several times for my cars, including my son's car. Plus, the AMA lobbies for motorcyclists and is our voice in DC.
I thought HOG towing was like a $50 allotment? thats it. At least thats what self and most friends have learned over the years which makes HOG kinda pointless.

$100.... if you have the basic package (what I got with my membership when I got my 2017)...... unlimited miles & Times of usage, if you pay $50 US extra. That is what I have.

so to clarify, you have to buy a HOG membership ($45 per year) then pay an extra $50 for unlimited miles & times of usage? ($100ish total per year)
(yea I know 1 year of HOG is free w/ the bike)
does this only cover your motorcycle? or does it apply to your cars/trucks as well
and the 'tow'....is to the nearest dealer? or to a location of your choice?

Up to 3 Harley's in your name, and 2 cars, but cars are 35 miles.
The dollar figure you quoted is correct.
And it is the nearest Harley Dealer. That is why I got it, on my way to Alaska at one point I was close to 500 miles from one. And if it is warranty work, and you need to wait for parts, up to $1,000 for rooms and food (I think there is a limitation on that.
The best thing to do is call the HOG tow line, and select the number to talk to upgrade your membership. Then you get the real facts.
They took care of me in Bakersfield when I got that flat.
I've used Road America three times and was very pleased each time, I've renewed every year since 2014. Make sure you get at least the Deluxe coverage, unlimited usage each year. Broke down on an Eastern Canada trip, first dealership couldn't resolve the error code but the bike started again and ran ok. Was advised to give it a go. Broke down again the following day. Told HOG I wanted a tow to the Halifax dealership as we had already tried the closest dealer and they had failed to find the problem. No issues with that request. Needed a rental car to follow the bike 200 miles, reimbursed. Hotel for three nights waiting for an ECM, reimbursed (I think I maxed out that reimbursement limit). Two other tows for flat and gearshift splines stripped, fast service with no issues at all. I've paid 120$ to date and would estimate over 2500$ in benefit to date. Guess I'm lucky?? Hahaha. I would highly recommend.
