This is the 3rd time (in 3 years) I've had to replace switches and buttons. This time the old front brake switch didn't want to come out. I ended up removing it in pieces. Couldn't get the new switch in until i put a heat lamp on the housing for several hours while the switch itself was in the freezer.
If i have to replace any of these again, I'm thinking of retrofitting hand controls from 1990 or newer model year. Anyone done this before?
Quit buying them Chiwanese switches, is the answer... I can't stand the Crap!!
OE is out there someplace... expensive, but worth it... Do Not get the leads over hot when soldering, and enjoy!!!

Please post a link to where you can buy OE 72-81 shovelhead switches...I would like to buy a couple of sets.
If you go to later model switches...get the 96 up...you will have to change the MC, and clutch lever to do it.

Last I obtained were from a Guy who I know from elsewhere... but on ebay..
I'll get his info, just tell him in a Message what specifically [ie O.E. Not Import] and if he has 'em... yer set. if not... Shop a bit. Hell I even buy old switch housings at swaps.. from the guys who need latching turn signals, easy to identify [usually] resolders, if ya get O.E. carefully Reuse them!!!
Used "real O.E." is better than Chiwanese New.
I personally Dislike the '96 and up Controls... too Bulky...
Try to Message this guy under customcyclesnw47 all one word all small letters
on Ebay... make sure you specify you only interested in O.E. Switches... There is another source... but I cannot find him just now,,, or, Like I said, Go to the Swaps and Buy assemblies... Cheap!!!
