My black ignition surround label is fading..I ordered a new label from HD that's coming..
Maybe instructions to remove the old one will be included..idk..
Googling didn't help atall..
It's down tight..
Someone know the best way about this?

I just replaced mine. Lemme see if I can find where.....
Can't find where I got mine, but here's a part # from Kutter H-D:71302-93A $2.55
My research indiactes they have one, but I could be wrong.
I used a heat gun set on low to remove the old one. Came off in less than a minute. Cleaned the residue with acetone (carefully) then Windex. Use care when applying the new one: once it's down, it's down.
My receipt is somewhere..don't know exactly where right now..
Probly the usual ways to remove decals is the same for this..
I think all I have round the house is alcohol..idk

heat up the area with a hair dryer or heat gun .....this will soften the adhesive ....use a sharp small screw driver or box cutter to slowly lift the edge of the label insert.....slowly pry up the old label and it will come off fairly easy . clean the area with a brake cleaner soaked rag .... let dry....apply new label .
