before i switched to forward controls.. the short time i had floor boards (less than 1,000 miles, i scraped them on more than one occasion. it was never intentionally, but it defiantly happened a few times. as long as you know how to ride its ok, i used them as fellers (like a track rider uses his knee).

I had the same issue with my Heritage. I was down at the Harley Store where I bought the bike and was telling the salesman how that was a problem. He went over to one of the Heritages on the showroom floor, lifted the kickstand, and leaned it over to show me how far over I was leaning to drag the floorboards.
It is not an issue anymore.

How did he manage to "compress" the suspension to give you a true picture?

For some, dragging the floorboards is fun. If you don't want to drag them, and still want to ride aggresively, there are a couple of things you can do-

Shift your body weight to the inside of the corner, that way the bike will not have to lean as much to make the corner

Use trail braking, this will unload the rear suspension, giving you more effective lean angle before dragging.

I switched from pegs to boards, lowered the bike. scrape from time to time, and it's fun for me.
