Solenoid Starter Button

Has anyone successfully installed a Solenoid Starter button on a 2000 or later Fatboy? It seems that the oil line under the oil tank blocks access to the solenoid. I would love to have a backup for staring since on one of my cross country trip from Virginia my starter clutch crapped out just outside Olathe Kansas and I dont want to relive that day any time soon.

Don't know about the oil line...but I do know the button will not help you if starter clutch is not working...FYI

I installed one on my 02 Fatboy. It's a tight space to work in but you will prevail if you just take your time.

I think you already have a no cost back up ...... it's called push, jump on, put it in 2nd gear and pop the clutch. Works even better when you have someone else do the push part -this method has worked for me many times

During the off season, I clean all the terminals in the starter circuit and the starter relay circuit. Never have had a starting problem, still have the original starter, although the relay is relatively new (it was replaced by the dealer under recall about 25 years ago...)

i installed it on my 94 heritage love it because it eliminates any electrical issues you have starting it with bad switch at the bars i wouldnt be without it now saved my *** a couple times
