I've often thought of trying to find some magnesium strips to put under my boards for a nice spark show at night!

I hate to break it to you, but if you get magnesium too hot it burns really hot and its nearly impossible to put out without special chemicals..
Hot enough to melt the boards off.
If you want to make a spark show, titanium or even high carbon steel is much safer.

This is prolly something that other people have done and or thought of but I haven't seen it on here yet.
I was all about the dual headlights on the Fat Bobs and wanted some on my 05 NT. I don't have the extra 300 buck HD wants so I went to a Pep Boys and picked up some tractor headlights. I made a bracket out of aluminum, drilled three holes (one to secure the bottom and two for the lights), and wired it up. I lost my brights but the run and the lights are bright enough to drive down country roads at night and not be timid. Total cost, $30.

Default Ace is the place...

If you're not crazy about the look of those bolt heads on your handlebar clamps or other places, check these out. I found them at Ace Hardware. They run about $6 a piece but very solid with a nice chrome finish. I also use one in place of the rear seat bolt, and one on my shift linkage. They also come with the HD style cross, or an eagle. (posted earlier in Fatboy Lo thread, maybe belongs here)

I agree, but my first concern would be if you get stopped some night and the cop notices that the lights are not DOT approved.
Unlikely I know, but you never know, a lot of cops are not as ignorant as you think about details like that.
The second one would be what kind of bulbs are in them and are they really bright and focused enough for some of the really dark overcast nights we get.
Otherwise I have to say its a grat solution to something I wondered about after getting a case of sticker shock over the cost of a Fatbob headlight.

As far as the cops stopping me, I would take the ticket and the gas to take it down to court with my stock headlight on. Gotta take some bumps. The bulbs are bright as hell. I cant post a pic of the bulb on but they are WAY brighter than the stock light and the bobber headlight I got to replace the stock light. However they are not bright enough to blind oncoming motorists. I have taken it out at night towards some of the drop zones on Ft Bragg where there isn't a light in sight. No problems. I don't expect any on foggy nights either.
Thanks for the compliments fellas!
