No different then fairings or lowers on touring bikes. Tea and Harleys are popular... lol

I wonder if the fangs were made about half the size if they would still be very effective. Smaller would be better. Anyone able to make a mock up?

Installed mine recently on my '08 Heritage. Took a 700 mile roundtrip to the NC/TN mountains last week and they made a substantial reduction in buffeting on the interstate.

This so weird... Normally I ride my SG, so this air effect is not present. I rode the OL's Deluxe (equipped with a Memphis Shade Shield) to our storage garage and definitely felt the updraft and buffeting. She was complaining of neck/throat discomfort and ear pain. I now know where this is coming from... Hate the look of the fangs, though. Im gonna have to come up with clear ones... Anyone make them clear?

I installed the wind deflectors yesterday took 200 mile ride to York PA for the steel toe tour, granted they did help with buffering but the heat was unbearable, felt like my legs where frying. I also wondered how much air this takes away from the engine, anyway I took them back off, I am willing to take the head shake in exchange for more air. In the colder months they will be put back on. I think they will be excellent for cold weather riding.

I should note that the deflectors where Harley's newest edition part number 57400143 they are shaped different from the old version like a forward scoop best way I can describe it. They also appear to be wider than the older version.
