Here is a link to the Harley install instructions. I'd imagine the j&p ones are the same.

The instructions for me are useless, because I have windshield hardware on there.

So I don't know if I take the windshield hardware out and put the deflector in-between will the windshield still mount?

Do I need washers?

Sigh. I hate to mess around without having clear directions.

I installed a set of the HD wind deflectors about a month ago. The instructions for those were terrible. I have a 2010 Fatboy with detachable windshield. I used only the existing detachable windshield hardware, nothing extra.

Working away from the forks towards the bolt head, I put these on:

1. Washer
2. Rubber windshield grommet
3. Wind deflector
4. Washer

On my Heritage I just take the 2 bolts out that hold the hardware for the windshield, put the wind deflectors under the washers and put it all back together. Do one side at a time so the brackets stay in place. Takes about 5 minutes to take them on or off.

I installed the wind deflectors on my 08 Heritage and love them. Probably one of the best add-on's to my bike i've done for the money. I highly recommend them.

Ditto! Put them on my 08 about a month ago. Man what a huge difference! I still think they're fugly but worth it.
