just installed mine tonight. took a quick 4 mile test ride in 38 degree weather with a skid lid on...still cold...but bearable. they will definitely stay on in cooler weather...but in the summer ill be going sans shield so they will probably come off.
Own a 2011 Deluxe and decided to take off the widshield while lowers were still attached. Almost got blown off the back of the bike as ALL the wind is now directed at me. Anyone tinker with modifying the lowers to be quick release for those hot summer rides?
Interesting point. I've had mine on so long with the windshield on that when I took the shield off, I thought that's just the way it is. Which is really bad.
I need to try the bike with the shield and deflectors off.
I'll be next to try these. I ordered a set because when I switched to beach bars, they have me leaning farther forward, and I really feel the wind/updraft turbulence now. My wife and I will be taking a trip, so I thought I'd give these a try. I'll post some pics and my review once I get them and install them. If they don't look too bad, I'll probably leave them on. But they don't look to hard to take off if I want to.
