Going on about a 400 mile ride this weekend so I stuck them back on for the second time. Thought they just did so-so on my last ride. I too don't care for the looks on my Deluxe and I swear my gas milage went down by 5. I'll post some thoughts on Monday.
I just got a 2005 Heritage. It came with two sets of deflectors. One set had straight sides and the other set had that notch in the middle you can see on some pics. Anybody know what the diff is and if it matters which set I use. Right now I have the straight sided ones on the bike. thanks
Yes!!! hahahah..
Well I wont say what happend but I put everything back on the bike: windshield and lower deflectors and it worked.
Then I said.."oh oh". The deflectors block my fog lights on the engine guard.
Well, my bike is in the shop..have a leak, its covered by warranty.
So, I took off the lower deflectors, drilled 3 holes in the lower half of each one.
I am painting part of the front of them black, and all of the back black.
If the holes give me trouble I will affix pieces of Plexiglas on the back side.
I just got a set this morning and just put them on my deluxe with out any problem hoping they will keep me a little warmer on my mountain ride in a week and a half. took me a sec to figure out the instructions I finally threw them out and they went on easily, got to love it when they make something simple harder than it needs to be
