If i remebered correctly when i called Samson before i bought my pipes they told me the baffles were welded in. Man a baffled Samson sounds just about right to me. IMO..unbaffled Samsons are border line annoying.

You could probably flatten the baffles, but it would take some time and ingenuity. It's not like the baffles on them are large or intrusive; basically just a bit of ribbing around the edges, at least on mine.
Before I was running stock pipes which I turned into Poor Boy drag pipes. I just hole sawed the weld and snatched them bad boys out. Not really sure how to go about it on these fishtails. I would like to hear a comparison between the baffled and non baffled. Blackandchrome....you runnin baffles?
I ran with baffles in my samsons for awhile and finally removed them about 5 months ago. With mine it was just a single bolt holding them in place. Easily removed. The sound without the baffles is a much better quality sound. I didnt realize how quiet they were before.
It was almost like going from stock to the baffled samsons again, just taking it to the next lever.
Its not annoying for me. Went on a ride yesterday. I was there with a buddy who has Electra glide with samson true duals (unbaffled). We were both upfront. I did feel for the guys behind us.........
