Default help w/ gear for new apes on 06fxst

few questions but here's the background,
it's on the way in and i am tryin' to decide on apes. I have ridden w/ them before, so i am somewhat familiar (but it was on an older shovel, so it's not really apples to apples). Like the ride, LOVE the look, especially after i take 2inches out of the stance.

So, I am a little concerned that 16's might be too high (i'm 5'10 and don't have stubby arms) but for the most part, the next size down is 12.5's and that that means lots of riser and that just doesn't look so good, not really an option. i think a 14 would be just right but i can only find one, LA Choppers and they are a little pricey. SO, right now i am leaning toward the Santee 15in from custom chrome.

i am getting the parts list together for the guy who is gonna do it. a wish list, as it were. i am getting a really good deal on all this (cost plus 7% and $30/hr for labor) but i gotta do 99% of the home work w/ regard to what i want. yeah, it's a pretty sweet deal, and this ain't the only thing i'm doing or parts i'm getting either.

so here are the questions

(keep in mind, i gonna start getting away from the chrome stuff, flat black and brushed alum, so flashy ain't necessary)

1-yall have any other ideas on a 13 or 14in bar.

2-stock pullback risers gotta go right....!? so go with a very short 1" aftermarket set or should i try and get a stock short riser set that i have seen on some of the other models (heritage, etc...remember, don't mind the not flashy part)

3-cables- going through the MOCO book picking out cables, are the 6+ stock sufficient length?

thanks for the help yall. i have been off a bike for a few years and this board has done wonders for bringing me back up to speed.

1) I would go with the 16 from Wild 1 and change angle and risers to lower.

2) i would use a short 1" aftermarket riser.

3) this depends on width and height of new bars and height of risers. just do the math of the differences.

here is a pic of mine
14 inch bars 1 inch risers anad the cables I wa able to rerout the clutch
cable and use stock throttle I bought 6 inch over and they are way long
front brake just straighted out the metal line
actually I kind of wish I had bought 16 inch bars.
do love the apes better riding position for me..as you can see i'm not a very big guy
5ft 10 on a good day 150 lbs always
