A tragic reminder.
kid left 20 yards of skid in the inside lane; bounced off the guardrail on the outside lane. hit me and moved my roadking and i 10 feet; my left saddlebag impaled his radiator, he then hit the guardrail on the outside lane again and then the car in front of me...
I heard the kids brakes lock and had enough time to turn see what was happening and yell "OH ****"
Accidents happen in a split second there was nothing i could do; in fact i was near the center lane stripe debatin to lane split-legal in cali- because the traffic was so backed up.
That's cool,it just came across to me like you were saying they should have done something to prevent it.
"People don't have to sit there and be run over" you say, how the F**K can you talk like that when 3 people are dead, maybe I'm taking what you said wrong but that just don't sit well with me.It sure as hell was not there fault,Do you stare in your mirrors at every red light??No I don't think you do.Have a little RESPECT bro!!
This was a good post. While tragic it has given all of us something to think about while we are out doing what we love to do. My son just finished the MSF basic riders course this weekend and after reading this post I asked him if they talked about watching your mirrors when stopped behind a car or where to stop in traffic. My son said that they did talk about it in class and that they recommended stopping to the left rear of the car in front of you. Riding season is here at last watch out for the cagers because they won't be watching out for us.
