I'm having a turn signal/brake light problem and was hoping some one can save me a little time.
I have no turn signals or brake light, I changed the 15 amp fuse and it blew it right away. I am running the soft brake tag relocater but have had no problem until this AM. Any ideas? TIA Mike.
There has to be a wire that is exposed and hitting the metal of the bike somewhere as said above. Start digging. I would start with the last mod being the soft brake...
I don't know too much about the soft brake set up, but is there a polarity issue? The fuse is working correctly... there is a short somewhere in the circuit.
Polarity is a non issue with LEDs, if they are backwards they just don't light. If this were me I would narrow it down by disconnecting the connector under the seat that feeds the rear lights.
If the problem goes away you are between that connector and the rear lights. head aft. If the problem is the same then there is something bad going on with that leg of main power. That will be more complicated. I've seen shorts where one single strand of a wire hanging out of a connector causes it.
I got out in the garage last light and pulled it all apart and all I found was that the old tag light bulb was blown. I removed the old bulb changed the fuse and everything is working. I checked out all the wiring and found no other issue. So we shall see if anything else developes. Thanks all.
