Default Quick cable length question for beach bars

Hey guys,

Wanted to check before I order and have even more issues. I am going to be using Carlini High Roller risers and LA Choppers beach bars. The stats on the bars are:

Width: 36 inches
Center Width: 8.5 inches
Rise: 2.875 inches
Pullback: 14.75 inches

They were almost exactly the same when I laid them next to my burly bikinis.

Do I need +4" or will +2 work on the throttle/idle/brake?

I'm doing a tank shifter so I don't need the clutch!

Thanks a lot!

I doubt you will need anything but maybe I'm misunderstanding the situation.

Going from stock bars/risers to beach bars and 1.5" risers.

when mocking them up they barely reach and get tight so I don't know if I need +2 or +4...

I installed Big Johnson bars on my 03 fatboy and did not need to replace cables. JP Cycles has a fitment chart. below is the specs.
Manufacturer Part Number:BA-7390-01B
Diameter:1-1/4″Center Width:3-1/2″Height:5″Material:SteelFinish:BlackRise:5″Wi dth: 38″Pullback:13″
Hope this helps.

I put Burly Bikini beach bars on my Heritage and did not need to extend the cables, but extended the wiring 4 inches and used a 48" brake line. Good luck!

I'll bite, how do you know? It would seem like a little long wouldn't be too bad. Why didn't that work?

It seems like the brake like will be the limiting factor, more than the throttle cables

48" on the brake line is +4". Is there a good amount of play in it? Need to order soon... I'm going to go with +2 on the throttle/idle for sure. Do you think +2 or +4 is better on the brake?

Thanks a lot guys. Promise more pictures when I get it all together

Don't know if the stock lengths on an 08 are the same as a 12 but when I put 518s on the wife's 08 Deluxe I went with 48" (+4) on the brake line and it's a good fit. May have been able to get by with +3.

Stock Deluxe risers
35.5 " wide
12" center
5.5" rise
14.25" pullback

way I figure that's about 2" more pullback and more than twice the rise as your setup. So providing the 08 stock lengths are the same as the 12s you may in fact be okay with +2. Hard to say. Way I determined my length was to install the new bars and hold the controls up to where they would be and added whatever was needed. While of course maintaining the correct routing and lock to lock range of motion or the bars. Unless someone has an identical setup, anything else is pure guesswork, no?
