That being said, no, the engine will be getting a overhaul, I want this thing to be reliable. After playing with forced induction on my car I'll never go back.
Just curious, not that I have any experience with any forced induction... I do know with my luck I would probably scissor the crank the first time I twisted the wick with all the power that procharger will make. Even with modest boost its gonna rip.

For "reliable" in any true performance application, you need a bulletproof bottom end. Go with a performance welded / trued crank that will take whatever you throw at it. the stock crank is not made for it. Check out DarkHorse Crankworks, look into using H-Beam connecting rods. I'm sure you'd like to stretch the legs on that SC at some point

I'd also recommend a heavier duty performance clutch. it really depends on how much you plan to spin up that boost and build the motor- a wider drive belt or convert to chain drive is not out of the question either.

When I buildt up and prepared my engine for supercharger I got lot of valueable info from lot of knowledgeable people. All agreed that stronger Crankshaft was needed.. The list of reccomended work was as foollowes..
Stronger Rods, like H-Beam or Carillo
Tapped or welded Crankshaft.. I did both
Timken Left Bearing Mod
Forged Pistons
Steel Head Gasket - like the Cometic
Stronger Clutch
Optional extras are like bigger oil pump, oil cooler, adjustable push rods, stronger cylinder studs
Darkhorse did all my engine work and they reccomended that I would keep the original belt as the strongest one around. They had terrible experience with aftermarket belts with their racing team.
About the only thing I didnt get solid advice on was what camshaft to use... Other than going rather for torqe cams if anything..

sounds like you got all good advice. you'll need things like the cometic gaskets and adjustable pushrods when you do head work or cams. depending on how big of a lift you go with the cams, like say 600 or more, you'll also need better valve springs like AV&V Beehive, and roller rockers. If you stay under 600 lift then no need.

it's endless! that is why if I do a motor I usually spec it all out ahead of time, do the math, buy the parts, have the machine shop work done, assemble, test, done. It gets a lot more expensive to put parts in piece by piece, labor on putting motor together and taking it back apart, etc.

But that is also why they call it a "hobby". heh

If you talk to Woods, t-man and hillside, you'll have a good idea on what cam to get and what static compression to set your motor for the chosen cam. for a town bike you want a cam that brings on the TQ early like 1500rpm and up, with an intake close around 41 degrees and duration of less than 250.

That said, I honestly don't know forced induction will change cam and compression requirements so please keep us posted as your build progresses- Good luck I know you have a lot of time and $$$ invested so far

When talking cams with forced induction I'd give Frank dragos a call. If I remember correctly Frank put together a 160+ hp,140+ tq 107 with his mild blower 550 cams, his heads and a procharger at 10lbs. Injectors and crank done also. That would be Awesome!

Just picked up a new to me Breakout after an unfortunate incident with my Fatbob, going to take some time to get used to the different dynamics but enjoying it so far! There are some interesting projects on here, some of which I will be undertaking in the not so distant future.

Welcome to the forum- Nice "upgrade" with the Breakout, hope the incident wasn't anything too serious. Post some pics of the new bike-

Default Nearly there.

Here's what mine looks like with the BeachBars and Motion Pro cabling.

Tomorrow (It's Beer O'Clock here now) will see the stock seat and pillion back on, then I'll consider what else I may want to do...

I would add that these bars increase the utility of those mirrors 100%.

Default Bar mount for a PV-2 name?

Anyone know the name/part numbers of the long cable and bar mount for the PV 2 perchance?

Bars look good- wow how's that seat? it will definitely keep you in the saddle even with a turbo on the bike. hah. only thing bad about stock seat with no pillion on is you tend to slide back when hitting throttle hard from a stop. I'm going to have my stock seat re-shaped a bit.

Unscrew those footpeg feelers they don't do anything except scrape the ground way too soon.
