For the Shaken they check everything for safety, noise, pollution and if you change the engine size you will have to register it again, what is also VERY costly (about 1000US ) was the answer from the Stealership.
I'll have to install my stock pipes and stock map before the Shaken so yeah its a real hassle.
yeh I understand about the bills / too many toys issue. but life is short. enjoy it to the fullest while you can. got a short time to be young and a long time to be old. That's just my 1 Yen's worth of opinion
Definitely love the 911 platform- here's the 911-997 cab, just sold it- was the constant fun-project car, not a better driving sports car for sure. I had a 911-996 GT3 coupe, black, before this one. On the 997 I dropped it 2" with KW adjustable coil-overs, TechArt 20" wheels w/ 7mm wheel spacers, KN intake, some light motorwork on the intake, 6 speed manual w/ short throw shifter, custom 1-off exhaust system. got me 322hp/280tq and handled on rails. the only weak point of the new 911, even the latest iteration like yours, is the stock suspension **sucks** (unless you buy a GT3)! P.S. if you add 7mm wheel spacers it really brings the wheels out a lot nicer into the fender wells and the car will handle better. it's a cheap and very good mod on any 911 from 996 to current.
wow that sux. even the bars? so who actually does the Shaken- the dealer or a government provided facility? that's really odd you have to re-register the motor on an engine volume size change- I mean the block is the same and same serial number, the engine itself looks identical whether it is a 96, 103 or 107. but changing cams is ok?
oh well gotta just suck it up and go with the flow right?
Its a government facility !! I dont have to re-register when I change cams since I can still change to the stock map so never will never notice, but if I do the upgrade you talked about then I dont think theres a way around. The insuarance will also not cover an accident if they noticed the change without I register it !
I never tried to go to the Shaken yet with a Harley, but this is just what Im told.
The other guy we talked with last week knows more about it.

Yeah, my one is a 997 Turbo Cab so the body is already more wide. I tried everything but it alsways keeps me on the road ha ha. I also had the 996 Tubo and a 993
Well we have to remember this is a BO forum
^^ Hmm- you can't really change to the stock map once you've installed cams. the cam timing (intake open / close, exhaust open/close) is hidden in the tune file ECM code. at least I certainly would not ride the bike with a tune map that has wrong cam timing in it. so please be careful on that.

LOL yeh way OT for sure. but only another 911 owner will understand - you got good taste in vehicles bro - 911 and the Breakout. I got rid of all the P-cars, had a Cayenne Turbo S too (which was also a blast!)- bought a truck instead and the wife got an SLK on lease. I just got tired of worrying about the cars all the time, plus the added maintenance. The Breakout, my Big Dog chopper and the dirt bikes are about it now for upgrade and fun toys.
Speaking of Breakout- I'm heading down to the seat shop today to sit on the new revised foam and go over final before they cover it. can't wait to get the new seat on the bike!

OK, the dynotuning guy add a stock map on the powervision that I should use for the Shaken, so hopefully its OK. Anyway they will bring the bike on a truck (not before December, after the first registration is 3 years) so they just need to start it up......what do you think ?

that's great you have a cool dyno guy- you should ask him if it is ok since I don't know what he did to the stock map. if the cam timing is wrong in the tune, your bike might not even start up or idle.
I do know that you can edit the Calibration ID and the Description in WinPV for your tune file. so you could edit those in your new cam tune to match the stock tune information, save it, flash it back to the bike. see attached

OK, I better check with the Dyno guy..... HAHA same taste, I had the first Cayenne Turbo 2004 and still have a 2011 Turbo, great fun to drive !
I also ride my XT600E when Im in Europe, not a real jumper, but still great for ravel roads !

Where can I see your Big Dog ?
XT600 is nice- I got a TTR250 and a TTR125 for the wife, great trail bikes will climb up anything. I had a built YZ426F, sold it- way too fast and powerful for anything but open desert racing. wheelies just by rolling on throttle.
