hmm it says it only works up on '13 models, i figured it was abs... are the rotors/calipers different for 14+?
Calipers and rotors are identical on '13 and '14. In 2015 they came up with different rotors....slightly larger diameter, AFAIK.
If fitment is per specification limited to '13 it's very likely it has something to do with ABS although the 'models were also available with ABS as an add-on. But then it should state "for non-ABS only"....
Maybe it's not that the ABS would not work properly with those AN rotors but that the rotors for some reason might not resist the pulsing brake force....
For those looking to install a swingarm bag and aren't necessarily looking for a specific style, I HIGHLY recommend this one that I found on eBay. It's made in the USA and is high quality...I couldn't be happier. I was a little leary ordering it from eBay since it was so cheap (about $83 with free shipping), but I'm very pleased that I did.
It's made of good quality leather, good components (quick-release buckles to attach to swingarm (3), quick-release buckles under the standard buckles, etc.) and has a double flap. Under the outer flap, the inner flap has a small/flat pouch with a velcro closure for papers (registration or whatever).
Not in any way affiliated with the seller; just thought I'd pass along a good deal on a quality item. Just search on eBay for "All American Rider swingarm bag softail" and you'll find it.
ETA: And if you don't like the logo/medallion, it's just 2 rivets holding it on. I may grind mine off, but not sure what I'd put in it's place to cover the 2 holes it'll leave.
I do not know the part number off hand. But I have a brand new set I took off my '16 Breakout that had 300 miles on it... If you'd be interested i saving some money let me know. I have the original handlebars, left and right side control set ups, grips, you name it... I replaced my bars with Carlini apes and replaced the controls as well...
