I would buy the CD inserts if they were not a "grab your ankles" price. They are brighter than the auto parts store bulbs but still using 3-5 year old LED chip technology. they probably cost fifty cents to manufacture. no joke. even the most high tech 1156/1157 LED bulbs from JDM ASTAR on Amazon are well less than the CD insert price and 10x brighter.

I can understand the Rings costing more because now you're getting into aesthetics and exterior trim.

Thanks again for all the help. You guys are the best 👍
I saw this on a Breakout in a parking lot a few weeks ago and it caught my eye. It looks really cool on the back of the bike. Had never seen this before. So posted on this thread and everyone including me about **** their pants at the price (even with the exchange rate, way too expensive). Here is the link:

http://www.hotbike.com.au/?product_c...ender-fix-kits

So I was at an event over the weekend and talked to a guy who does custom fabrication and paint. This guys work is truly outstanding. I showed him the picture and we looked up under my Breakout at the current reflector mount and I asked him if he could build me a license plate like the one in the link above. He said sure no problem. So I asked him for a "ballpark" price and he said $500. (6 hours @ $75/hour). Maybe less, but this is a parking lot quote. I thought holy **** that is almost the same as the list on the internet. WTF? He said look at all the support that is built into the current mount. Then you have a much heavier license plate hanging out of the *** end. You need to make sure you properly design the mount so it is strong enough. Yes, it could bolt in like the current mount, but he would prefer to tack weld it, then you have to re-paint the fender. Now it is really expensive. He said he would be happy to build it and give it to me. I can install it anyway I want to but if there is a problem it is on me. Again he said he prefers to weld it. This guy will refuse any work that he believes is not up to his standard which I respect, and he is always busy as hell. Anyway wanted to let you guys know. I am debating just ordering online or having this guy build me the same thing (would be a little cheaper). Thanks.

I just ordered a pair of these high brightness LED 1157 bulbs off Amazon, $14. Going to test them out.
http://www.amazon.com/generation-LUYED-Lumens-Bright-33-smd/dp/B01D8BT40O http://www.amazon.com/generation-LUYED-Lumens-Bright-33-smd/dp/B01D8BT40O

I am also using the JDM ASTAR red 1157 bulbs but they tend to overheat inside the small housing enclosure- Does not melt anything, it just means the high power LEDs cannot keep themselves cool enough and fail prematurely due to no air circulation. I've had two bulb failures already. There is a trade off between high brightness and longevity for LED bulbs placed inside small bulb housings. so the pair above I'm testing is very bright but not quite as much as the JDM ASTAR bulbs. Also the bulb needs to have good differentiation between tail and brake. many do not. I'll post how it went.

But trust me, getting those tires on there might just be the best thing you can do to the breakout. Night and day difference, no bullshit.
As soon as I wear out my current Dunlops, I am going the same way. Way too many posts with the exact same comment.

^^ why wait? those stock tires are so hard they are going to last forever, and suck the entire time. heck the front tire will probably outlast the bike itself

I have thought about that.... But I will wait till the current back tire wears out then replace both. Last time I only got 3K miles on the back tire anyway. It was past the wear indicator and 4 different people told me to replace the tire, and at the time I was not smart enough to know any better so I just put the stock Dunlop on as a replacement. Wish I had known you guys sooner!

Great! Do the same ones also work on the FRONT of the bike (2-way: running lights and turn signals), or do I order something different?

Got my plate relocater ordered from accufast with the matching custom dynamics faceplate. Cant wait till it comes in. Once I do this I will need to replace the rear signal lights as the left sticks out further cause of the old plate holder.

They are chrome now but I would like to replace with black. Does anyone know which part numbers I will need?

Also I want to black out the rear fender struts. Harley does not sell them in black. So I guess you guys removed them and powder coated them. Any ideas on who I should send it to and roughly how much it would be.

As usual thanks again.

Peter

ps. LA, I have really been thinking about how to drop the bike, either progressive shocks or shotgun. Spoke to the harley dealership guy and he doesn't advise either. Says there may not be enough room (i know this is bs cause you guys have done it) also says it will ruin ride either way I go. Progressive seems a lot cheaper and easier, I don't see myself inflating and deflating every single time, sounds like it would be a pain in the ***. Is the ride that bad with a 2 inch drop from progressives? and how likely am I to bottom out or hit a peg (note: I am a very non-egressive driver, I enjoy my ride time and ride slow, hate getting there fast and then the ride is over )

You will need this ones below for the front as this are amber and the first ones I sent you were red for the back. They are plug and play. See link

for the rear turn signals I painted them black myself with primer and gloss lacquer. Don't know if HD sells a compatible set in black.

for powdercoating you will typically find a local place and take your parts there. check google for places in your area

for lowering, 1.5" is realistically the most you want to go and keep a bit of suspension travel. i have mine about 1.25" lowered. many guys here like the progressive 422's- I think they are "meh", ok, but that's just me. but still better than the stock suspension.

PS- seeking guidance with anyone at HD about aftermarket parts or upgrades is a losing conversation. that's not their area of expertise. just sayin-
