But i did not know the dealer could do what you say? the parts book says you need to buy the set(ignition and fork barrel/key sets). So that's great news. I would much rather only change out my ignition side but thought you could only do both or none. Nice!!! thanks.
Yep, I went into the dealership ready to fork over the cash for the set. The parts dude straightened me out. Worked out good.

How did you get the switch out of its mount? You need a special spanner socket for that...I did anyhow....

Again good man!! I would of never done that. Would of bought the set. My dealer does suck though. They never help me out. But now that I know i'll straighten them out if they try and blow me off.

I used the old spread open needle nose pliers trick. Actually worked like a dream(once I broke free from the blue loctite). I always have to do that trick with my 4WD hubs and stuff. Usually works but sometime it doesn't.

didn't damage the nut holes or anything. Can't even tell i screwed it off.

Just mulling over the idea of adopting 27 1/2 or even 29 1/2 front fork tubes. I'm just wondering how much the increased trail will adversely affect the already somewhat planar BO handling.

Also, what to do about jiffy stand ?

Thanx All.

One way of alleviating the "planar handling" of the Breakout notably is to change to more responsive tires. If you have not yet done that, try it. Worked exceedingly well for me with a Pirelli Diablo pn 1682600 on the rear, and an Avon Front AM41 Venom X 120/70H-21 68H Blackwall Tire - 90000000753 or an Avon Front Cobra AV71 120/70V-21 Blackwall Tire - 90000000746.

Thanx Jim, much appreciated.

I was considering the forks for more of a cosmetic change than anything else really. I'm certainly not a performance type rider but didn't want to turn my BO into a flat car in the corners for the sake of image either. My current E3's are new (rear to be installed in spring). I'm gonna give those Pirelli's a try at next change though. You and LA and 24V endorsing em makes them an easy choice.

If you have instagram look up akairaider. He did 5 up over stock on his fork tubes. I hear if you do 2 up it won't affect the handling that much according to my mechanic. Anything above puts you in 'mystery trail' territory.

I measure 3-1/2" from the top tree to the bottom of the bars. Aprox. 1" of pull back.
