Any suggestions how to cover the area between the seat and the tank? I thought about wrapping with black heat tape
Do the Blackline dash swap and while it's all apart paint the bolts black. Done.
Looks pretty good so far.
I think that if I do this mod it'll be part of swapping to a swingarm mounted rear fender...but the rear fender is a big part of what makes the Breakout distinctive. It's something about how the fender turns up at the tail end. I suppose plenty of other bikes - not just H-D's - flip up like that. I wouldn't want to give it up though. None of the aftermarket swingarm fender kits keep the flip in the fender...hhhhhhmmmmm.......
What keeps rain out of the battery and other under-seat electrical stuff?

Everything under there is weather proof as far as I know. Delphi "Weather Pack" connectors, right? When I wash my bike I pop the seat off and hose all that crap down. Never had a problem.

I will put something in between to keep the water out.
Didn't decide if it will a piece of 1" square foam or what not...

Thank you
For me this mod was important since I had back surgery.
Will do a thunderbike fender as well one day. But shouldn't be a big issue with the seat... hopefully
Can u send me a pic of the blackline dash without the seat?
Anyone who doesn't perform LADog's front suspension repair/mod doesn't know what they're missing. That mod positively transforms the bike.
Other folks have said it, but it bears repeating .... ditching the factory tires and fixing the front suspension should be the first two items on every owners list.
100%!! and relatively easy to do. Directions are on point!
Well to the guys that chimed in with opinions, they were very much appreciated. The local dealer with the 16 CVO just didn't do much for me as far as convincing me to stick with him, drove about 1.5hr to the next closest dealer and they had 4 CVO's and 8 different stock Breakouts. Needless to say they bent over backwards to make sure I was happy, Im talking 50% off parts added and worked 400 of clothes for the mrs. into the deal. I got the "special edition" smokey colored 2017 coming my way, should be done and ready on the 24th. This being my first brand new at 38 Im just a little excited!
By the way you were right it didn't turn out anything like the 16 CVO! lol

Just had Burleigh High Ball 14" bars and LED front turning indicators fitted. Man, she rides really nice with these bars fitted, handling/control is greatly improved.
Awesome bars! Are you glad you went with 14" over 12"? I'm having the trouble deciding. I'm 5'10" and want to be able to ride long distances without fatigue. What's your experience?
