Default circuit breaker

when i turn the key on on my 80 shovelhead all i get is a clicking noise from the middle circuit breaker under the seat and nothing works. if i disconnect the org taco wire everything works but only a slight click at the starter relay with a fully charged battery. when i put a test light on the acc and light breakers i have power but no power on the igh breaker the bike fell off the stand without shocks on to the floor still upright.could i have damaged the ign breaker the problem wasnt there before thanks

Default 1988 heritage softail

Some smart guy found a way to hook up the battery backwards on a 1988 heritage softail. I don't know much about bikes or what I should be looking for or testing or where to start. I know that it doesn't have fuses and is run with circuits. Please...any help or guidance would be greatly appreciated.
