Default Tach Bracket

Do you know where you bought the tach mount? I have the same one on my bike, but it broke and I cannot find the same one.

Thanks, Joey

none of that stuff is made anymore and the dealers probably don't have any stock left,

if you cannot fix yours then your only hope is to hunt one down on ebay or on a Harley dealer parts website somewhere. First step would be to figure out the part number or you can start looking at pics on ebay that match yours.

another option is to make your own mount or go with the new combo gauge from HD.

Do you remember where you purchased the mini tach mount? I have the same one. Mine cracked by the bolts. I need to purchase a new one, but I am having a hard time finding one to work.

Thanks, Joey

Okay, sometimes I can be a real Dumb*ss. I talked with the service dept at my local HD dealership. The guy said the pink wire does connect to the back of the speedometer. So I pulled the Speedo out again and looked closer. There was in fact an empty #3 cavity in the connector. (it had a red plug in it). You have to remove the blue locking pin from the side of the connector and pull out the red dummy plug. The pink wire on the Tach kit has a small pin (female) on the wire end. Insert this into the #3 cavity and replace the blue locking pin in the connector. The feed to the Tach actually comes out of the Speedo on the #3 pin. This is NOT shown on the wiring diagram in the service manual! The 39B connector does not even show a #3 pin.

All hooked up and Tach is working great now.
thank you for this info, i bought the same gauge but with bar mounts for my 07 nightster and i too didnt see a pink wire for the tach to attach in the wiring diagram, but there is a spot for tach output in the speedo as you described, now i just have to find a mini pin connector to stick on the tach wiring harness to make it all work....
