Has this ever happened to you and should I be worried about something going out?
I'm due for my 5,000 mile service so I guess everything will be looked over just in case.
I was out for a night ride testing the mreed DIY breather installed on my bike today and while getting on the throttle I looked down and the speedo said I was going 0 mph. It was quite strange looking. lol
So I pulled into the next gas station, shut her off, waited a few seconds and upon restart all was well again.
Do you have a fuel pak by chance? I had one on and had the same problem. One of the reasons I ditched it but also I pulled the speed sensor and there were little metal shavings on it. Cleaned it off and never had the problem again. So I dunno if it was both things causing my problem or what but when I got rid of the fuel pak and cleaned it off the problem never came back. I never had the problem before I added the fuel pak and this was a few months after I purchased the bike. That's why I found it hard to believe the speed sensor was the main problem. Who knows, hopefully that fixes your problem also
I know this is an issue with the thundermax ecm. Had it happen to me after install at about 500 miles on it. only time. they suggested checking all electrical connections. i'm sure it could happen with any ecm.
No problem. Hopefully that fixes things for you. Did for me whether it was the fuel pak, sensor, or both. That thing is a b*tch to get at though with little allen wrenches.
