Default damn mirror keeps moving

Everytime i takr my hand off the left bar the bike vibrates the mirror so much that it moves. His there a way to tighten the mirror? Bike is a 2006 xl1200custom with stage 1 kit and hooker troublemaker pipes. Having to always adjust my mirror is driving me nuts.

I had this same problem. I used some green light duty loctite on the mirror joint. Fixed it until I had to adjust it, then I reapplied.
That worked until I changed the mirrors to something different.

I was thinking about the loctight or superglue. I can only imagine the vibration problems the solid mount guys have..

Whats moving on you the mirror or the stem holding it there should be screws in the back of the mirror itself you can tighten the stem tighten the nut down then move stem by hand till it gets tight you do this a few times till you find the spot you like.

The mirror is held to the stem by a pivot ball. There is no screws to tighten :-(. I was thinking about just changing out the mirrors if there isnt a easy fix

Try EBay for some of the older, 2002 and earlier I think, square mirrors. They have the tension screws that the 2003 and later don't have. I was having the same problem with my 2006 tear-drop mirrors. No problems now. You can also find both short and long stem mirrors to suit your needs.

Default same problem

I have the same problem with my 03 xl1200c. I had thought about the Loctite on the ball, but think I am just going to replace the mirrors. I don't like the stock mirrors anyway. Just not sure if I want to go with HD mirrors or get after-market. Any good suggestions?

You mean what am I using NOW? That was 3 sets ago. LOL
Now I'm using a Small rectangular style mirror (no convex on right side) Taking a little getting use to. But I like the look better, they're double jointed so I can get them lower to the grip
(and we all know double jointed things have possibilities). The others reminded me of Gazoo antenna. But I kept them incase I want to switch back.
