I also just discovered that the lights are flashing because the alarm is going off. Without touching anything, just lifting bike off side stand the lights start too flash. i can use the fob to reset alarm but the bike still is locked out.

Turns out the original security code of 1-1-1-1-1 was the answer. The bike is now at the local HD shop having alarm removed !!
