Hey! It gets down to the 30's! And when your blood has thinned out, the 30's are very cold...
But I know what you mean. It's nothing like north of the Mason Dixon line. Moved back from the west coast a few years ago and can't wait to move back.... As long as it's on the coast. Inland is too humid and hot.... and too many Palmetto bugs!

Very comfortable and you can put regular Underarmor on under them when not real cold and the ultimate Freece lined underarmor when the temp really drops. I have tried it all and this works great for me.

Jammin just sent me a Black Friday email showing 20% off today!
Ride safe
+1 on Jammin' Leathers. Have a pair of dark brown leather pants that are Buffalo (I think). Nylon lined. Good down to upper 40's and then I start with different base layers. Also, Leather Legs makes top notch leather gaiters that are tapered. Both are well made.
ps. Heated grips sure are nice too as you always feel where you are cold.....

Let me start by saying I hate wearing chaps . That being said
I bought some fleece lined jeans today to try instead of chaps .
Anyone had any experience with them ? How warm are they for
riding this time of year below 60 degrees ? Do I need long johns
too ? Bought mama some too . They better work or I'll be in for
a long cold ride Sat . Thanks .
I bought a pair a few years back to wear during the cold winters here. They were warm and insulated the legs well. Never rode with them though.

I will often times wear my fleece lined carharts and toss my rain pants over the top to cut the wind. Much lighter and more comfy than chaps due to weight. I don't mind chaps tho either.

Firstgear thermo one piece suit. I rode in low 30's Minnesota temps and stayed nice and toasty all over my body.

Um... below 60?? You guys crack me up. Chaps work. Hate them as well i am good in the upper mid 30's with just soft lowers. Heated gear is the way to go.

Heard a lot of good feedback on this suit. Price wise it's definitely worth it

Need to look into lowers and chaps for cold weather riding here. I normally wear long johns, jeans, leather with sweatshirt, long sleeve under armor, and long sleeve t-shirt underneath that. Normally I am not riding past Thanksgiving but I'm going to try and keep riding up until the first snowfall. They tend to salt the ** out of the roads here.

To the person who posted about moving to Florida, FU! hahaha Wife and I are going to relocate to Florida in a few years, one of them being we can enjoy the bike all year long and not have to invest in cold weather riding gear.

Careful there...

Florida's winter weather has it's own hidden costs: summer humidity as thick as chicken soup, daily rain "showers" that are almost flood worthy in some spots, weather patterns you have to run away from every now and again, and finally, some roads paved with a sea shell mix that turns slicker than ice with freezing rain on it the INSTANT it gets wet!

But the beaches are nice :-)

LOL Thanks for the tips. I see it as weather here in good ole NJ isn't any better. I'm on the coast and there have been more times than I can count recently where we are nervous about an impending storm.
